job Description:

• Follow assigned route and adhere to established schedules
• Drive bus to and from extracurricular activities (work irregular hours as needed)
• Check bus for mechanical defects before and after each operation and notify supervisor of needed repairs.
• Report all accidents, vehicle damage, student injuries, mechanical failures and hazardous conditions along the route. Complete required reports.
• Keep records on bus mileage, gas and oil consumption, and number of passengers transported.
• Keep assigned bus clean and fueled
• Supervise students while they board and leave the bus and cross the street
• Communicate with teachers and parents on a daily basis regarding student behavior while on bus. Instruct students on safe riding rules and regulations.
• Maintain discipline, report student discipline problems to appropriate administrator.
• Keep informed of and ensure compliance with all UIL rules.
• Observe all traffic laws and safety regulations for school buses.
• Inspect the bus, check fuel, oil, water, tires, lights, brakes, and steering to ensure the bus can be operated safely before driving.
• Correct unsafe conditions in work area that could cause an accident and inform supervisory of any conditions that are not correctable immediately.
• Follow all policies and procedures in accordance with the Transportation and Employee handbooks (including prohibition of personal electronic device use while on duty).

Pay: 

• $19.00 / hour
