Betty Hardwick Center is currently seeking a Crisis Specialist in our Community Response Team program in Abilene.
Job Description:
- This position will work as part of the Community Response Team, working with the Abilene Police Department and Abilene Fire Department.
- This person will perform crisis assessments in the field, responding with the Community Response Team to 911 Mental Health Calls for adults and children.
- This position will work as part of a team to cover the times from Monday, 8am-6pm, Tuesday through Thursday 10a-8p.
- If a holiday falls on a scheduled work day, it will be considered a work day considering the modified schedule.
- This position is responsible to perform crisis assessment services to assist persons in mental health crisis to access needed treatment and referrals, including in-patient hospitalization as needed.
- These services will be mobile crisis assessments at consumer residences and other community sites.
- The CRT Crisis Specialist will be responsible to complete crisis services within the time frame set in the Mental Health Community Standards.
- This employee will use Trauma Informed Care principals when dealing with crisis consumers.
- This employee will need to have effective communication skills while interacting with community agencies as well as CRT Members to resolve the crisis needs of the callers.
- Must be able to work under pressure with stressful situations while maintaining a professional manner.
Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
Pay: $21.32 - $22.55 / hour.
