The legal advocate/attorney will report directly to the Executive Director and serve as intensive legal support for crime victims and their families. In addition to helping victims navigate the legal/justice system, the legal advocate will work with law enforcement and other judicious partners.
Qualifications and Job Requirements:
- Legal expertise. Attorney preferred.
- Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or Social Sciences (or related field)
- English speaker with proficiency in Spanish (preferred but not required)
- Ability to work a flexible schedule (some weekends and evenings),
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to maintain a caseload.
- Valid driver's license; clean driving record; reliable vehicle, and applicable auto insurance.
- Ability to work with a culturally diverse population, including individuals with disabilities, substance abuse, and those who identify as LGBTQ.
- Proficient in computer applications and programs, such as Word, and Microsoft Excel, and the utilization of the internet and social media in performing job duties
- Team player
- Ability to manage time and resources.
- Able to collaborate and work effectively with RVCC staff and community stakeholders.
- Report suspicious and inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
- Follow mandated abuse and incident reporting requirements.
- Meet timelines and deadlines related to supporting systems and employee compliance.
- Complete additional duties as assigned.
Pay: $52,000-62,000/ year
