Immediate Supervisor:  Operator IV

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

This is a full-time position. Stop vehicles at Citizen Convenience Center entrance, collect fees, perform necessary clerical work to provide reports as directed on a timely basis. Directs vehicles to proper unloading areas requiring persons to segregate waste and recyclables accordingly. May operate a roll off truck to remove containerized waste as necessary. May operate other types of heavy equipment in the landfill such as a dump truck, water truck, dozer, compactor, etc. as needed. Keeps recycling center neat and clean. Performs maintenance on equipment as required. Must be willing to adopt and exhibit the City of Brownwood I SERVE Core Values.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certificate. Ability to read and write and follow verbal and written instructions.
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability and skill to operate heavy equipment and trucks safely and efficiently; possess good driving skills; possess mechanical abilities to perform preventative maintenance on equipment. Ability to perform manual labor and use hand and power tools.
 
REQUIRED LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES:
Must possess valid Texas Driver License. Must obtain a Texas Class B Driver License w/air brake endorsement, within 1 year. Obtain a TCEQ Certification to remove Class I and Class II Refrigerant Gases within 6 months. Obtain a TCEQ Waste Screening Certification within 2 years.
