Overview
Perform administrative support for the Corporate Purchasing Department required to maintain sufficient inventory levels and product availability for assigned areas.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain appropriate stocking levels for assigned products. Assist with inbound logistics including administration of freight rates, fuel surcharges, etc.
- Monitor and complete coil release programs daily to ensure adequate raw materials are on hand for manufacturing.
- Monitor reorder points and perform branch inventory replenishment through system program on a daily basis.
- Respond to special requests from sales in a timely and accurate manner.
- Identify and resolve issues associated with defective or unacceptable goods with internal business units, customers, suppliers and vendors.
- Timely and accurate process completion. Monitor and verify processes for errors. Minimize outages.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required. College coursework is a plus.
- Five (5) years of administrative support experience preferred, two (2) years of purchasing/procurement experience is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills and detail orientation. Ability to multi-task and maintain confidentiality.
- Knowledge and experience of computer software including Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel is required.
- Ability to process administrative transactions in an efficient and accurate manner.
- Ability to learn and administer software programs.
- A combination of education and experience may be qualifying.
