 Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic - Field/Shop


REPORTS TO: Operations Director
FLSA CLASS: Non-Exempt Ryan Construction Inc


SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The successful candidate for this role will need to demonstrate accuracy and efficiency in the maintenance and repair of equipment and efficiently complete paperwork that is required.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Duties, Skills, Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Able to work in an independent environment with limited supervision.
  • View safety as paramount and continually works to put safety of self, co-workers, and equipment first.
  • Displays work behaviors that are honest and ethical in pursuit of Company business goals.
  • Complies with Company management procedures.
  • Travel to and from customer sites to perform maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment in the field. 
  • Develop and maintain effective positive work relationships with co-workers, customers, vendors and agencies. 
  • Analyze and diagnose equipment malfunctions. 
  • Repair, replace or rebuild any component on drill that needs attention. 
  • Perform general housekeeping duties to continuously maintain safe, clean worksite.
  • Write service reports that accurately document diagnosis and repairs needed, including parts used to make repairs.
  • Prepare required documentation including service reports, parts lists, and time cards in a timely manner.
  • Knowledge and ability to comply with MSHA guidelines and regulations. 
  • Ensures that assigned company vehicle maintains a clean professional appearance and is in proper working condition. 
  • Adaptable with the ability to adjust to changing circumstances and adjust to new tasks and environment.
  • Other duties as applicable to the position. 


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4 years of direct related heavy equipment repair or technical school training.
  • Possess own tools and willing to invest in tools over time. 
  • Must be able to read, write and follow instructions.
  • Pass drug screen and physical.
  • Pass background and DMV checks.
  • Possess a valid Texas Drivers' License.
  • Ability to travel
  • Minimum age of 20 years, as required by insurance.


Minimum Pay: $26.20/Hour (Depends on experience)

Maximum Pay: $27.23/Hour
