Annual Salary: $52,627.44
Works out to $4,385.62 per month or $25.30 per hour after probation.
Standard probationary period of 6 months during which time salary is reduced by only $50.00 per month.
Shift: Ability to work any shift including nights, weekends and holidays with varying days off.
Duties: Patrol Deputies are responsible for responding to all types of law enforcement related incidents and requests for service within the 914 square miles of Nolan County.
License Required: Applicants for Deputy Sheriff positions with Nolan County Sheriffs Office must already be licensed as a Peace Officer with the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) or have already completed a TCOLE approved Basic Peace Officer Academy, including having successfully passed the state peace officer licensing exam, and must meet all requirements to become fully licensed as a Texas Peace Officer.
Residency: Nolan County Patrol Deputies are required to reside within the boundaries of Nolan County. However, variances for living outside the county, within a very limited radius, may be approved on a case-by-case basis by the Sheriff but will likely affect take home vehicle use.
