The Department of State Health Services is looking for an Environmental Protection Specialist III
JOB SUMMARY:
The Environmental Protect Spcl III Performs highly complex (senior-level) environmental or public health and safety work. Work involves coordinating inspections, surveys, assessments, or investigations to ensure compliance with the Texas Asbestos Health Protection Act (TAHPA) & Rules (TAHPR) and National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) regulations. Evaluates environmental impacts; and identifies health and safety hazards and other issues that can affect the health of the environment or population. Conducts compliance inspections and complaint investigations, writes reports related to compliance and enforcement of state and federal laws, rules and regulations using appropriate software. Responds to requests from the public for information and interpretation of applicable regulations. Attends and testifies in administrative hearings when necessary.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Experience, and Training
- A four year degree from an accredited university with a minimum of 15 credit hours of science.
SALARY: $3,763.16 - $6,149.00 per month
