COVID-19 Essential Workers

Employees in the following fields may be eligible for emergency child care assistance:

  • Pharmacy and health care workers
  • First responders
  • Critical local and state government staff
  • Mail and delivery service staff
  • Nursing home, child care, home health care, and other direct care providers
  • Grocery store staff
  • Gas station staff
  • Bank staff
  • Restaurant (with drive-through and delivery) staff
  • Military personnel
  • Other workers deemed essential by the Texas Workforce Commission or Workforce Solutions of West Central Texas

Application Process

Families can apply for child care assistance in one of two ways:

Once your Application for Child Care Services is received, CCS will review your application and notify you in writing as to the status of your application and next steps. To update your name on the waiting list or report any changes that have occurred to your household since submitting your application, please call our office at 325-795-4200 or submit this online form.
