WHAT DOES A WOW STUDENT AMBASSADOR LOOK LIKE?

Student Ambassadors are a group of select individuals who serve as the face of the WOW event!  They are positive, energetic, and not afraid to speak in front of a crowd.  WOW Student Ambassadors are involved in their communities and demonstrate the characteristics of a leader in their school.

STUDENT AMBASSADOR FAQ
How many student ambassadors are selected each year?
Three (3) high school students (grades 11 & 12) and three (3) college students (any grade-level)

Is this a paid gig?
No, Student Ambassadors are volunteers who are looking for an opportunity to give back to their community and enhance their professional network and leadership skills.

Can I serve as a Student Ambassador more than once?
Yes!  We welcome you to reapply; however, priority will not be given based on past service as an ambassador.

How will my application be scored?
An anonymous group will look at all applications in order to pick our Student Ambassadors.  Identifying information will be removed from all applications in order to avoid bias.  The anonymous group is encouraged to strongly consider applicants who show ability to serve in a leadership role, are available to complete the requirements of a Student Ambassador, and have strong letters of recommendation.

Who should I ask to write my letter of recommendation?
A best practice is to obtain a letter of recommendation from someone who knows you professionally and is not related to you.  Examples would be a teacher, student organization adviser, athletic coach, school counselor, or employer.

Why should I apply to be a Student Ambassador?
By serving as a Student Ambassador, you are plugging in to a HUGE network of employers, training providers, and resources.  In addition, Student Ambassadors are provided with many opportunities to enhance their resume and develop leadership skills.  Above all, Student Ambassadors work closely with one another and in return develop life long friendships that will last well beyond the event!

I have more questions, who should I contact?
